Creating Space for Stillness
Planning with Peace – Part 1
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I open my planner and just… sit. No checklist. No rushing. Just quiet. And honestly? It’s such a simple shift, but it’s brought me a sense of calm I didn’t know I needed. This season, I’ve been craving more stillness. Not just in my schedule, but in how I move through my days. And my planner—this little space I use daily—felt like the right place to start.
Letting Go of “Always Doing”
It’s easy to fall into the habit of filling every page with things to do. But what if we gave ourselves permission to leave a little space? A blank box. A soft margin. A note that simply says “breathe.” I’ve started looking at my planner not just as a productivity tool, but as a rhythm keeper. A place to notice what matters. A pause button when things feel loud and there has been A LOT of loud lately.
Making Room for Quiet Moments
Here are a few things I’ve been trying that might feel good for you, too:
Leaving one day each week blank—just to reflect or rest
Adding little notes like “go outside and visit the chickens” or “read a few pages of that book.”
Using soft colors, calm layouts, and florals that make me smile
It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just intentional.
Planner Practice: Try This
This week, leave a little space in your planner just for you. Maybe it’s a half-filled box or a blank note page—somewhere that doesn’t need to be productive. Write a gentle word. Sketch a flower. Add a sticky note that simply says, “pause.” Let it be a space that gives you a breath, not another task.
It’s Okay to Do Less
Stillness doesn’t mean stopping completely. It just means moving slower. Planning with more grace. You can still track things, set goals, and show up for what matters. But when you make space for quiet moments inside your planner, you start to carry that same peace into the rest of your day. And that’s the kind of planning I want more of.
You don’t need to do more. Just be here, exactly as you are. A little stillness can go a long way—and your planner is a beautiful place to start.
Thanks for being here.
Next time, we’ll talk about how to create a planner setup that actually feels like you.
